Botox

Botox is used in the medical field for a variety of neurological disorders.
Botox is best known for its use in cosmetic medicine. It ensures the fading of wrinkles. Botox is highly diluted and will be injected in small amounts into the muscle fibers that are responsible for the dynamic lines caused by facial expressions. Botox blocks the nerve impulse from nerve to muscle, so this is (temporarily) less powerful. Because the muscles can no longer contract, the overlying skin remains smooth and wrinkles have enough time to recover. The effect of Botox lasts an average of 3 to 4 months. As you repeat the treatment, the effect persists longer.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is an endogenous substance that is in our skin. Hyaluronic acid ensures that water is retained in the skin, keeping it under tension. As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid will reduce in our skin. This creates loss of volume, the skin becomes softer and wrinkles start to appear. Treatment with hyaluronic acid restores the skin from within and instantly reverses this effect. This youthful look can last between six and nine months.

Sculptra

Sculptra is a 100% biodegradable polylactic acid wrapped in hydrogel. Sculptra stimulates the formation of the collagen (the raw material for connective tissue) in the skin. The skin becomes firmer, fuller and more elastic. Sculptra is broken down slowly over a period of months, while new collagen tissue is constantly being created. Even when Sculptra has completely faded from the body, the newly formed collagen tissue will remain in the skin for months to come.

It is important that you are well informed when choosing one of the described treatments above. Prior to the treatment, you will be invited for an informal consultation with one of our specialists. We will cover all information regarding expected benefits and risks of the treatments. This way, you will know exactly what to expect, both in terms of the operation and the possible side effect. The latter, for example, in the case of botox treatment, however rare and transient will still be mentioned.
